We’re excited to announce that dotmoovs — the first crypto sports challenge platform powered by Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence — has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF). By integrating Chainlink’s industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we now have access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness needed to fairly distribute the exclusive prizes, NFTs and other rewards we will be giving away soon. Ultimately this creates a more exciting, transparent, and fraud-proof user experience, as users can better understand how dotmoovs wants to bring fairplay to the game.
What will we be doing together?
dotmoovs wants to allow people to interact with each other, to challenge one another in their favourite sports and to improve their skills while doing it. dotmoovs is powered by blockchain and a state-of-the-art AI system to analyse videos of players performing sports challenges, allowing athletes of all skill levels to monetize their capabilities, earning $MOOVs and NFTs.
In order to properly run a drawing, we need access to a secure random number generator (RNG) that any user could independently audit. However, RNG solutions for smart contracts require several security considerations to prevent manipulation and ensure system integrity. For instance, RNG solutions using on-chain data like block hashes can be exploited by blockchain miners, while off-chain RNG solutions like traditional data providers are opaque and don’t provide users with definitive proof about the integrity of the process.
Why Chainlink VRF?
After reviewing various solutions, we selected Chainlink VRF because it’s based on cutting-edge academic research, supported by Chainlink’s time-tested oracle infrastructure, and secured through the generation and on-chain verification of cryptographic proofs that guarantee the integrity of each random number supplied to smart contracts.
Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The dotmoovs smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides our users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that dotmoovs provably fair and cannot be tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or the our own team.
We will start by using this integration with our newest and super exciting drawing with some super exclusive NFTs. But we intend to take this integration further away, working on ways to surprise athletes, users and supporters, innovating and taking our platform to another level. We are working on different opportunities to use $MOOV.
We intend to reward active users and Chainlink VRF is a verifiable source of fairness, removing from us the burden and risk of being unfair by being the ones picking who gets these goodies or rewards. And we don’t want to establish criteria that unfairly rewards one individual over another. We’ve always spoken about fairplay and how important it was in sports and on our platform, so this is a great way to actually accomplish it.
