On December 10th, Pedro Rente Lourenço, dotmoovs’ CEO, sent a Telegram video to all the Moovers addressing some questions and replying to some feedback regarding the newest changes on the app.
Here is the full transcript for everyone who missed it:
Hey everyone! I’m here to give you a quick update on dotmoovs, our app, our in-game economy, our AI and what’s coming next — so please stay with me for the next couple of minutes.
We have been working (very) hard on developing our technology and game design and I want to start by giving a massive word of THANKS to everyone that has been involved in the community, from closed to open beta, reporting errors, sending ideas and creating this wonderful group of people that makes us want to do more and more — if only we had more hours in the day to develop more and work faster!
At this point we have entered a very good development rate, and as the complexity of our app and our systems grows, we are being extra careful with all of the features we develop, all of the AI updates, all of our initiatives because we want your experience to be the best it can be.
You may have noticed some recent changes, so I’ll address them one by one:
1. First, our new in-game economy. When we launched our closed beta we decided to test several reward mechanisms to see how they would work in the app and out of it, without too much concern for the reward amounts because we were working within a limited cohort of users. We have now updated this economy and understand that naturally some of you have voiced concerns on lower rewards and the need for sports mining to access these. This was absolutely necessary so we can have a healthy game economy without making it overly complex — if we increase complexity we will miss communities that just want to get better at sports while playing a game that is easy to understand and that to us is an important factor. Our goal is to have millions and millions of users in the app and with the previous rewards mechanism this would not be possible (as we have a limited supply of our token!). This means that we have updated the in-game economy to be healthy while still allowing you all to Play2Earn, as well as giving us a chance to have special rewards for special events and launch new challenges with little “treats” for our users! The in-game economy is something we will keep a close eye on so keep watching this space as we develop the app further and as we grow our user base;
2. Our fantastic AI team (and a massive shout out from me to these great professionals) has been working around the clock to improve our scoring, ball detection and our certainty in what we are providing you. You may have seen some updates coming through, there will be many more in the future, alongside new sports. I personally have been looking into the reports you send (and THANK YOU for that again!) and using these as a basis to flag potential areas of development or improvement. What I can tell you is that alongside some developments that will be released very soon we are constantly training new models and trying new techniques, and I literally just got out of a meeting where we were discussing the latest model metrics and how they are evolving in the right direction;
3. Our app is under very rapid development, but at the same time nothing comes without one or two bugs — we are taking the time needed to fix these in the right way, while building a strong foundation that will let us scale and not halt our growth in 3 months because we didn’t prepare for it. When I say we want millions of users in our app, playing every day, getting better and interacting with each other I am very serious and I don’t see dotmoovs following any other path. We will be the ultimate sports community and I am so eager to reveal some of the things we have coming next — but promised myself I would not promise anything to you without a clear delivery path.
One thing that you should always count on from dotmoovs is transparency, and this is why I am providing you with this update. Although we cannot reveal our trade secrets, in everything we can we will strive to keep you updated, answer your questions and keep building this community that has given us so much joy already. It is remarkable to look back and see only 6 months have passed and the whole team has created such a connection with you all.
I am really thankful for all your support, and on behalf of everyone here at dotmoovs just want to say a massive THANK YOU. We have a lot to do still, and we’re moving full steam ahead, so please keep in touch and let’s get MOOVING!
